PROJECT BUDDHO AFRICA
 - A DHAMMA DISSEMINATION & WELFARE PROJECT

In the year 2004, the Buddhist Maha Vihara had printed 10,000 booklets at the cost of USD 1,500.00 and dispatched it to Buddhist centers in Africa. The Dhamma books were translated and published in native African languages and distributed free in Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi and South Africa. Volunteer translators are from Tanzania and novice monks in South Africa.

Limited monetary assistance is also given to some temples and humanitarian projects carried out in Africa by Buddhist monks such as the Wheelchair and Prosthetic Limbs project by Ven. Wimala Thera of the Nairobi Buddhist Centre, Kenya.
